Sabbath

GOOD NEWS!!
We have discovered what our bodies and souls have been longing for:
TRUE REST

FIRST THOUGHTS:

Okay, we have all heard them … commercials playing off of our needs and desires of the flesh. For example: We hear them saying, “Do you feel like (and then they describe your condition in life or your hardship) … they close out by saying, “Well, we have good news for you …” (and then they finish by explaining their contraption that will satisfy that need).

Here is what I perceive God’s commercial to be like:

“Do you get worn down as the week goes on? Do you feel like you need a break from the stress of life? Would you like to have an entire day without any work or business? When the weekend finally comes, do you then see another chore … your grass needs to be cut and the repairs on the house need to be attended to? Do you feel like life is a vicious circle with no breaks and that your relationship with God basically consists of a one hour church service? Do you desire a more meaningful life?

Well, I have GOOD NEWS for you!!

Simply walk in my Sabbath and you will find what you have been looking for! True rest!”

The Sabbath is sort of a “dress rehearsal” for what life will be like EVERY day of eternity. So why do so many refuse to obey God regarding the Sabbath, yet claim they want to be with Him forever? I mean, if someone has a hard time taking an entire day once a week and giving it totally to God, are they lying about their desire to be with Him every day for eternity? My friends, if I made an appointment with you on Tuesday at 10:00 … when would we meet? Tuesday at 10:00. You would not come the next day or the day before. This is the Creator of the Universe’s appointment and who are we to say, “I am busy that day, let me do it another.” So the Sabbath spoken of here is the appointed day … the seventh day.

We have been given the awesome glimpse of Heaven in Isaiah 6:2-3 and Revelation 4:8-11. Those who are honoring and obeying God’s commands for the Sabbath will testify that it is one day that we can share and enjoy a taste of the heavenly realms. Let us read what is being done NOW, in Heaven as just another day of eternity:

- “Above Him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is YHVH Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:2-3)

- “Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is YHVH God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worship Him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:8-11)

I don’t think the elders are concerned about work or which team is winning in the latest televised sports event?

If this is a glimpse into a day in the life of Heaven, then we all need to start training NOW!

Those who honor and keep the Sabbath know what I mean when I say: “The second that the sun sets on Saturday (ending the Sabbath), a longing sets in. A loneliness, if you will. It surrounds the child who has just spent 24 hours in the presence of God during His appointed time (Leviticus 23:2-3), the day that HE blessed and cannot change (Genesis 2:3) and the day that He commands us to walk in (Hebrew 4:9-10) … JUST like He did.

My friends, the sin is NOT that many are worshipping God on the next day (the day after the one that Yeshua (Jesus) honored and kept). That is not a sin and NEVER will be a sin and NEVER has been a sin. The sin is (was) that we are (or were) not obeying Him regarding His appointed day. The day He blessed. The seventh day.

Let me attempt to convey to you what I feel each Saturday evening. When sundown comes ending the Sabbath, it is like a door shutting behind you. The six days until the next Sabbath feel like an eternity ahead. It is a glimpse of what Daniel must have felt in the lion’s den. Tossed into a week of hell … all alone. I mean, we have just finished spending 24 hours in worship of the King. Talking with, listening to, and sharing with the Creator of the universe. Oh, we can hear the world around us moaning and groaning for what we are experiencing. They may even laugh, but it does not matter to those who are enjoying this rest. But when it is over … there is a longing for this intimate time from the moment the door closes behind until sundown on Friday night.

VERSES THAT TOUCH ON THIS FEELING:

“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. (We taste this each Sabbath) Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.” (Psalm 63:1-6)

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” (Psalm 42:1-3) (Then the Sabbath comes again … and we meet with Him intimately.)

Here is a thought: We are the bride of the living God. The Sabbath is God’s calling to His bride to spend time with her and to be intimate with her … alone in the chambers of His kingdom! “My lover spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me.” (Song of Songs 2:10) “Arise , come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” (Song of Songs 2:13b) … Our response to His calling? It is no less than that of Solomon’s bride to Him … found in Song of Songs 1:4 … “Take me away with you – let us hurry! Let the king bring me into his chambers.” (The Sabbath … a taste of intimacy with God … in His personal chambers!)
Do you long to be with God? Do you desire to let go of this life and live it for God? Are you, like those who penned God’s Word, tired of this world and long to be with Him?

“Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile (While still on this earth) we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.” (2 Corinthians 5:1-4)

“Instead, they were longing for a better country – a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.” (Hebrews 11:16)

Ahhhh … Paul knew what many feel. We long to be with Christ and leave this world. But until then, we have a mission … to gain true wealth … the souls of those who are perishing. So, in a sense, each Sabbath is a call home. It is like a visit to our lover, for we are away from Him at this time. We, His bride, are at war and desire to be home. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.” (Philippians 1:21-24)

LAST THOUGHTS:

Taste it … touch it … experience it the way that God intended it to be: The Sabbath. To be with God. He can be felt. He (the water of life) can be tasted. He can be embraced the way He intended to be embraced by His lovers.

24 hours (sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday) … God has GOOD NEWS for those who crave to enter that rest.

“If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the LORD’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.” The mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 58:13-14)

Our flesh desires to satisfy itself … our spirit desires to satisfy and to be with God.

Our flesh desires to cut the grass, fix the house and repair the things of this world … our spirit should desire to obey God and to be with Him. Who is in control of your body?

The day, the appointment, the call to be with Him remains the same!! Our Savior felt this rest on the day God put aside. In the past, so much was added to God’s commands that they were unbearable. Today, we have taken away God’s commands and say they are not valid … both are sin … why? It is a command … not to change His Word.

- “See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.” (Deuteronomy 12:32)
- “Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.” (Deuteronomy 4:2)
- “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5-6)
- “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: IF anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)

So … why did we change this glorious day? All these years I have been yearning for something more … I have finally found it: It is called God’s Sabbath day at His appointed time. We can make other appointments to meet with Him, but this is HIS appointment and HE invited us.

All I ask is … to just think about it.

DEVOTION
03 / 18 / 05
(Comments in parentheses and emphasis are mine)

FIRST THOUGHTS:

This devotion is the result of a discussion with a friend (Who happens to be a teacher of God’s Word). First, I want to thank him for challenging me and ultimately sharpening me with his “iron”. I pray that my “iron” can do likewise. I also pray that this devotion will cause ALL of us to think about what our actions are saying about God to the world. We have to admit, we have been handed down a LOT of traditions from very “learned” and “wise” men … that doesn’t mean that they were right. At this time in history, though, it seems that God’s Spirit is awakening His children to His truth and righteousness. Enjoy, as I respond to my friend’s comment that Colossians 2:8-22 changed the Sabbath day to another.

Our goal AS children of God is to conform to His image and to search out sin in our life to shed it (not hide it or find ways to “free us up” of obedience). If this is NOT what your goal like my Pastor friend and mine, then there is no need to read on. Obedience is our way of showing God how much we love Him and that we do believe (“If you love me, you will obey what I command.” … John 14:15 and “This is love for God: to obey His commands.” … 1 John 5:3a)

Before we start, let me ask you a few questions:

- Would God change a command that was perfect already? If so, then it wasn’t perfect to begin with, right?
- Can God change it since He created it? Then He lied and does change like we do, because HE said, “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a man, that he should change his mind.” (1 Samuel 15:29)
- IF one truly desires to live out God’s Word, isn’t it the Messiah’s life we have to imitate? (1 John 2:6 … “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Yeshua (Jesus) did.”)

COLOSSIANS 2:8-22 (broken down):

So that we do not take this verse out of context, let us find out what the topic is all about. We will find it in Colossians 2:8 … “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” This must be addressed, do you think that God’s Word is “hollow” and “deceptive”? Does God’s Word depend upon human traditions and the basic principles of this world? My dear friends, we really do not need to go any further. I pray we all agree that the Sabbath is NOT the topic of conversation in Colossians 2:8! The Sabbath is not any of the above descriptions: hollow … deceptive … based upon human traditions or the basic principles of this world?

We will continue, though, our walk in Colossians, we will find verses 2:9-10 telling us that “IN Christ” we should understand the fullness of His Word. We should see how the Sabbath IS the Messiah … how His festivals REVEAL His plan of salvation … how the Messiah IS the Father, as well as the Spirit and the Son … and so on. Messiah is the REASON we are to obey! We now have that fullness to understand it!

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.” (vs 2:9-10)

Skipping down a few verses, we must remember what was happening and what the topic was. They were judging each other according to laws that were hollow … deceptive … based upon human traditions or the basic principles of this world. They were speaking about the man-made laws … NOT God’s Laws. Again, what is sin? ANYTHING that goes against Laws of Moses and the Prophets (To remove or change is to remove His righteousness … for that is who He is. If we are “alive with Christ” we are to be obeying as He did, right? (1 John 2:6 above, but also Colossians 3:10 and Romans 8:29 say that we are to be conformed to the image of our Creator!!) Now, let us read Colossians 2:13 … “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive WITH Christ. He forgave us all our sins.” Before being saved, I was dead in my sins and did not have a circumcised heart. Now that He is in me, I am alive and am able to conquer sin (He forgives me and remembers them no more. Is there any problem there? None that I can see.

Here we are … at the verses that many seem to say gives us a license to disregard God’s commands. Let me say a few things first. Can you imagine the Son of God, who can do NOTHING without His Father’s approval (John 5:19), actually nailing His Father’s PERFECT instruction book (Psalm 19:7 and James 1:25) to the Cross? Do you remember the other times that our Savior came across the Teachers of the Law and rebuked them? What was the common denominators for His rebukes?

1.) They were either making obedience a condition for salvation

… or …

2.) They had added there “spin” on the Law and made it a Law, as if they were from God. These written codes and ordinances (calling them commands of God) that the leaders were creating were making it impossible for anyone to enter the family of God. Matthew 23:13 … “Woe to you, teachers of the Law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.” (These laws were man-made laws and were called “Dogma laws”.) Not only were the leaders creating their own laws, but there is proof that they were even installing barriers and partitions in God’s temple that were NOT commanded. Did God ever tell them to do these things? Of course not! With this truth in place, NOW read Colossians 2:14-15 … “having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Question: Was God’s Law EVER against us? How about His Sabbath? Matter of fact, wasn’t the Sabbath FOR US? (Mark 2:27 … “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”) Christ made a spectacle of the teachers of the Law and Pharisees for what they did! How? By raising up from the dead.

Don’t you love how God’s Word doesn’t have holes in it? I mean, if we used man’s interpretations, in one spot we would find our Savior saying, “I tell you the truth, unless heaven and earth disappear, NOT the smallest letter, NOT the least stroke of a pen, will BY ANY MEANS disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” (Matthew 5:18), then another time He appears to be “nailing the Law to the cross (Colossians 2:14). God does not trick His children with deception (that is what Satan attempts to do to us). As we can see, this is not the case … God’s Word will NEVER pass away! (Psalm 148:6 and Matthew 24:35 / Mark 13:31)

Colossians 2:16-17 … “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.” I am now going to give you the original Greek words … notice that the interpreter has assumed some things: “No man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect day, or moon, or Sabbath. Which are shadow come; but the body Christ.”. As we know, when you see word “therefore”, the words to follow are usually the summary of the previous topic. In this case it is … hollow … deceptive … human traditions … and basic principles of this world being challenged … NOT God’s pure word!! The leaders were adding other laws to God’s and were then judging others BY THEIR LAWS! Colossians 2:17, though, seems to have added a word from the original Greek:

- (The above rendering is the NIV interpretation) “These are a shadow of the things that WERE to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.” (as IF what was being talked about was past tense)
- (Original Greek) “Which shadow come; substance Christ.”
- (King James Version is even better) “Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

Do you notice that the word “were” is not there in the original Greek? Also, who do you think the substance of the Sabbath is to be? (HINT: focus on Christ!)

Here it is … wow … the summary of it all. Again, in Colossians 2:20-22 we find the writer, again, stating the subject (of Colossians 2:16) … “Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: “Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.” Let me ask you, has God’s Word EVER been based upon human commands and teachings? NEVER! Man has added to it, altered it, and maligned it. God’s Word is NOT the basic principles of this world … and NEVER will be! There is no difference between what the leaders in the New Testament times did (added to the Law) and what the leaders since have done (taken away from it or changed the day).

LAST THOUGHTS:

God knows that we are all sinners … right? He merely wants us to have repentant hearts when we find out we were wrong and have sinned. That is called humility to admit we are not perfect. (I could fill a book with the sins that are being revealed in my life right now … that is okay as long as I repent and change.) The problem arises when we know the truth, yet refuse to walk in it (“They did not keep God’s covenant and refused to live by His Law.” … Psalm 78:10). His Spirit is trying to conform us to our Master’s image. The fact remains, the more we are conformed to His likeness, the more we will be hated by those of the world. The more different from the world we appear, the more the world does not like it, for by showing the Light, their sin is exposed. Our light is our obedience to God as His children.

The Sabbath on another day? Things like this have happened before … in Colossians 2:8-22 for example. Man was changing God’s Law and judging His children. It’s odd, but many who are trying to obey the Sabbath that was actually given by God are the ones being judged and accused of being legalists. (By simply obeying what we see in God’s Word and not conforming to the laws made by past leaders.) So the cycle continues.

Is it okay to worship the Lord on ANY day? Why of course it is! Matter of fact, the greatest commandment tells us to do so! Love YHVH your God with ALL your heart, soul, mind, strength and understanding … but there REMAINS a Sabbath day for God’s children … “There REMAINS, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God: for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, JUST as God did from His. (NOT similar to God’s way, but JUST as God did.) Let us, therefore, make EVERY effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.” (Hebrews 4:9-11) It says, “Today … if you hear His voice” … do you hear Him? Are you willing to give up all simply to follow Him as His Son did?

When we change God’s Word and say God is okay with our disobedience, what does that show the world and our children about God’s character?

- That God changes like man does … like another fad.
- God was not right the first time.
- God is just like us and can be persuaded.
- God cannot be trusted as being perfect.

I mean … who is conforming to whom … God to man, or are we to be conforming to HIM?
1 Samuel 15:29 … “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change His mind; for He is
NOT a man, that He should change His mind.”

Thank you, my friend, for the challenge. I pray that you, too, will teach the truth and be the greatest in heaven with those who teach how the Messiah showed us the Living Word! Active and sharp! (“Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” … Matthew 5:19) I love you dearly, my friend.

BELOW ARE JUST SOME OF WHAT IS SAID ABOUT THE SABBATH …
(SO WE KNOW WHAT GOD ACTUALLY COMMANDED):

What day is the Sabbath? (“By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all His Work” … Genesis 2:2)

Out of all the days, which day did God bless? (“And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that He had done.” … Genesis 2:3) Did God ever bless the first day of the week … Sunday? Didn’t God’s feast day of First Fruits reveal that He would raise up His Son on Sunday? (Raising up on the first day of the week does NOT constitute changing the Sabbath!) Can God actually change His perfect command by changing the day He already blessed?)

What is the actual commandment? (“But the seventh day is a Sabbath to YHVH your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.” … Exodus 20:10) Did you see how God even covered both the employee AND the employer? Did you catch how by obeying, we are showing our children that we believe in Him? He is a perfect God … not conforming to our sins!

What else are we told about observing this Day? “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and YHVH’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by NOT going your own way and NOT doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in YHVH.” … (Isaiah 58:13-14a)

Do you think that Satan would try to change this day? Of course he would. For this is just another way we show the world “which God” we worship! The God of Israel! (Daniel wrote, speaking of the end times and the antichrist … “He will speak against the Most High and oppress His saints and try to CHANGE THE SET TIMES and THE LAWS. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.” … Daniel 7:25) His saints are those who, through faith, are trying to follow their Savior’s voice. They are trying to display their love to their Master through their obedience to His Word. Satan’s job? To deceive us … the elect.

DEVOTION
10/21/05
(Comments in parentheses and emphasis are mine)

FIRST THOUGHTS:

The other day, another person said to me regarding their relationship with the Lord, “There’s something that seems to be missing. I feel as if there should be more to my walk with God.”

Since I have heard the same plea from so many people, lately, may I humbly introduce to those children of God a possible starting place … the Sabbath:

“Remember the Sabbath day BY keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to YHVH your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore YHVH BLESSED the Sabbath day and MADE it holy.” (Exodus 20:8-11)

If done with the heart that God asks us to have, it is truly a blessing … a gift … straight from a loving God. A day that God actually gave to His children in order to spend time with Him. God rested on the seventh day and blessed the seventh day (Genesis 2:3). This event, God resting on the seventh day and blessing it, has already happened. It is an event that is done with and is set in time for eternity … Can God change the day that He blessed? Can He switch the day on witch He rested to another day? Can He change a day in which is set in time? Let me give you an example: The attack on the twin towers happened on September 11 (9-11) … it is now history. Can we ever change that date? Of course not. I suggest to those who are seeking a closer walk with God to embrace the actual day that He blessed and then gave to us. (I admit it is not popular with the world … for the world hates Him … John 15:18-19. But we are not here to please the world.)

IT’S ALL ABOUT PROTECTING THAT DAY BECAUSE IT IS HOLY:

In Leviticus 19:30 the Lord says, “You shall KEEP My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am YHVH.” The original word for “keep” is “shamar” … meaning to:

- Put a hedge around
- Guard
- Generally to protect or attend to
- Observe or preserve
- Save
- To watch over, to be on one’s guard

We are to protect this day … how has God’s children done so far? Not too good. So let us embrace this gift again.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS IN WHICH MY FAMILY PROTECTS THE DAY?

We don’t go into the market place on the Sabbath because of the following verses:

- (Amos 8:5a) “When will the New Moon be over that we may sell grain, and the Sabbath be ended that we may market wheat?”

Why we read out of the Law (Torah) each week
(These verses are simply to have with us to remind us)

The elder’s challenge (rules) to the Gentiles was kept to a minimum solely because the Law (Torah) is read each Sabbath. In other words, the Gentiles will hear the Law of God each week and be convicted of their sins … and then obey. Acts 15:21 … “For Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and IS read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.”

Acts 13:14-15 … “… On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down. After the reading from the Law and the Prophets …”

Since we are priests (Exodus 19:6 … “… you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”), we should know God’s Word and be able to use it accurately. We should do what priests do, and that is to give the Truth to anyone who asks:

Deuteronomy 17:18-20 … “When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the priests, who are Levites. It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this Law and these decrees and not consider himself better than his brothers and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel.”

Our Master challenges us (numerous times) with the question, “Haven’t you read?” For instance, Matthew 12:3 and 5: “He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did when …” and “Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests …”

The Law (Torah) and the Prophets go hand in hand with each other, as well:

Our Master is found in the synagogue on the Sabbath, even doing one of the readings: Luke 4:16 … “He went to Nazareth, where He had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day He went into the synagogue, as was His custom. And He stood up to read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him.”

God’s Word reveals that these weekly readings were to be done and are still to be done. By doing this, all will stand without excuse one day by either condemning or confirming the Messiah: Acts 13:27 … “The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Yeshua (Jesus), yet in condemning Him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.”

So, we too, share in the reading of the Law (Torah) and the Prophets, like our Master and those who followed Him did. How else will we know? How else can we be ready to defend the Word correctly? How else will we know that we have sinned against Him?

Speak Your Mind
